The Independent Investigative Panel on allegations of human rights violations by the disbanded special anti-robbery squad and other Units of the Nigeria Police Force (IIP-SARS) has set aside Thursday, March 10th for an executive session to consider petitions on judgment debts.
A petitioner, Nnaemeka Orjiakor, on Wednesday pleaded with the Independent Investigative Panel on human rights violations by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other police units in Abuja, to order N10m compensation in his favour following his alleged arbitrary arrest, detention and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment by the police in 2019.
